501(c)(3) Requirement
The sponsoring organization must have valid 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS. Churches are automatically considered tax-exempt, but must still demonstrate religious purpose.
Organizations should maintain current financial records showing ability to compensate the religious worker at a level consistent with others in similar positions.
